Andy and Cindy Jennings have been the proud owners of  Rare Olde Times since 1994.  “Andy and Cindy” began performing together as a duo in 1982 in pubs around the Richmond area and up and down the east coast (including a long-standing gig at Ireland’s Four Provinces in Washington, D.C.)   Some of the highlights of their career include opening for Danny Doyle, Tommy Makem and the Clancy Brothers; sharing a stage with  Paddy Riley and Cherish the Ladies; and entertaining every year at the Irish Festival at Saint Patrick’s in Church Hill.  They have six recordings to their credit, the most recent a CD entitled “Reconciliation” recorded live at Rare Olde Times during the summer of 2005.

Andy is a native of Dublin, Ireland and named the pub after a favorite song of his father’s.  Cindy is from northern New Jersey and has made Richmond her home since graduating from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.  The couple have 2 sons, Kevin and Connor (who are already planning on inheriting the business!)  Andy also has three grown children in Ireland.

If you visit Rare Olde Times (and we hope you will), you will either find Andy in the kitchen (he’s a chef as well as an entertainer!), on the stage or at the bar most nights.  You can usually meet Cindy on the third Saturday of each month.  Longtime band members John Holmes and Gray Granger, otherwise known as “Then Some”, bring the music to a higher level every Friday and Saturday.

Andy and Cindy would be delighted to meet you in their authentic Irish pub in the West End of Richmond.
